In February, I participated in our annual meeting with Unique Investment Corporation who, for 20 years, has been CPI’s strategic partner and has shared our guiding principles of integrity. I came away reminded of our fundamental belief that if the attainment of a company’s goals is aligned with the satisfaction of its people’s individual goals, that company will find success. Our people and their personal goals are part of what inspires me to work with them in achieving our Vision: To improve the global environment for generations to come by supporting important laboratory work throughout the world.
With this in mind, I would like to recognize Colitag™, our revolutionary water test trusted by laboratory professionals around the globe, and an example of how these partnerships provide us with opportunities to give back.
In many resource-strained countries, managing safe drinking water supplies to protect public health embodies numerous challenges. In recent years, CPI has partnered with the Aquaya institute, to collaborate on their Monitoring for Safe Water project, a research study in Africa funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. In participating on this project, CPI donated over 1,000 Colitag tests for a portion of the study which examines ways to increase the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of water quality monitoring programs. Additionally, our Vice President of Water Microbiology, Rosalind Tung, has donated time and expertise consulting as the designer of the comparative testing protocol for this portion of the study. Roz, as we know her, comes from a long line of humanitarians. Anyone who spends time with her knows that she’s not only knowledgeable in her field, but a passionate individual who desires to make a positive impact through contribution. This ongoing project is one of many that we’re a part of and I look forward to highlighting more as the year progresses.
Exciting New Happenings
We’re looking forward to an upcoming “Community Corner” page on CPI’s website where we will recognize the many ways our Team Members give back to their communities and the world. It is my hope to raise awareness for our employees’ favorite causes by sharing them with you, our Valued Customers.
We are also proud to recognize Robert Thomas, an expert in the field of trace element analysis who has authored almost 100 publications and written three textbooks on ICP-MS and related topics. We look forward to sharing this industry leader’s knowledge in a series of upcoming articles.
Already this year we have enjoyed seeing you at multiple industry conferences. We’re looking forward to our remaining 2018 events, including the Cannabis Science Conference in Portland and the AWWA Water Quality Conference in Ontario, plus more. If you’re at any of these events, we would love to have you visit our booth.
