We’re happy to announce that through your gracious participation, we were able to donate over $6,000 to Freshwater Futures to help solve the long-overdue water crisis in Flint, Michigan, and other programs aimed at providing safe drinking water and tackling future water crises in the country.
Your donations will help support Freshwater Future’s mission of “Ensuring the Healthy Future of Our Great Lakes Waters,” including the support of the Flint Community Lab, which is ramping up to give local families free water testing services.
Through support and funding from networks including CPI, the Flint Community Lab continues to bring scientific solutions to present and future water crises. It also engages youth with educational opportunities in science and technology.
The scientific community’s support has made this possible. Together, we work to Ensure Clean Water for the residents of Flint, Michigan, and all over our country.
Thank you for your support.
From April 2014 to October 2015, 140,000 people were exposed to lead-contaminated drinking water in Flint that weakened the residents’ trust in their drinking water and government. This alarming event marked the beginning of the Flint water crisis.
Filters have been used to reduce the amount of lead in water. However, the issue persists as residents either can’t rely on these filters or are not well informed on maintaining the filters.

In partnership with Freshwater Future, the Flint Community Lab opened its doors in 2020 providing a trusted resource for free water testing of lead and other pollutants at no cost to local residents. For every tap tested, residents receive a personalized results report, a meeting with a lab specialist to discuss findings, and solutions to any discovered pipe or fixture changes within their homes.
“People are happy to see us in the community. Sometimes you get some pushback, they don’t believe this is something that can help them, but primarily, by and large people want to know what is happening in their water so we are going to be providing that, trying to bring that trust back into the community.” - Michael Harris – Partner, Flint Development Center Community Water Lab

CPI’s Sponsorship
CPI International supports initiatives that ensure clean water and Freshwater Future’s work could not be more worthy of our support. Monetary donations help ensure the Flint Community Lab continues to flourish and bring scientific solutions to the community while engaging youth in job training, innovation and problem solving.
We are proud to be one of the many project funders of the Flint Community Lab. We believe this first community-based laboratory is the key to gathering and analyzing as much data as possible, solving the city’s long-overdue water crisis, finding solutions to any future water crisis in the country, and helping more than 20,000 Flint homes to have safe drinking water.
This May 2021, CPI has committed to donating a portion of sales directly to Freshwater Future and the Flint Community Lab. Their dedication to ensuring healthy future waters in the Great Lakes region aligns with CPI’s desire to make a social impact that promises clean water.
