PTFE Syringe Filter - Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic Syringe Filters 

PTFE syringe filters are inherently hydrophobic but are also available in hydrophilic syringe filter configurations. PTFE membranes are very resistant to solvents, acids, and bases and are ideal for filtering non-polar liquids and gases, including filtering and de-gassing chromatography solvents.

PTFE membranes can be made more hydrophilic by flushing with alcohol, followed by water. After pre-wetting with alcohol, they may be used for fine particle removal of aqueous and mild organic solutions in Ion Chromatography.
